This strawberry vinaigrette is a delicious, summery-tasting salad dressing recipe made with fresh strawberries, oil, vinegar, and a little honey. It’s made in just 5 minutes, and its sweet-tart flavor is irresistible!

Strawberry vinaigrette in a glass jar with a spoon.

Strawberry salad dressing is one of those little kitchen wins that instantly makes a meal feel special. It’s light and fresh, a little sweet and a little tart, with a subtle creamy texture that tastes like summer in a jar. This strawberry vinaigrette offers a bright flavor without being heavy and comes together in minutes.

I love it on a simple green salad, but it really shines as a strawberry spinach salad dressing with fresh spinach, feta cheese, and a sprinkle of nuts. It’s also the perfect way to use very ripe strawberries that are past their prime for snacking. Since everything gets blended, soft and juicy berries are ideal—just be sure to trim away any brown or moldy spots before you start.

Two more summery salad dressings to try are my balsamic cherry vinaigrette and my raspberry salad dressing.

Answers to a few questions

How long does this salad dressing keep in the fridge? This dressing will keep well for 3-4 days in your fridge.

Can I use other berries instead? Yes, you can try other fresh, in-season berries in this recipe. You may want to adjust the honey and apple cider vinegar amounts slightly, as berries vary somewhat in their sweet-tart profile.

Will frozen strawberries work? Yes, you can use frozen strawberries in this vinaigrette. If you’re making this in the winter when strawberries are not in season, frozen strawberries are your best option. Make sure to thaw them completely before blending. And you may want to add a little more honey, as the strawberries won’t be as ripe.

Ideas for using strawberry salad dressing

This is the dressing I use for my strawberry spinach salad, which is made with spinach, sliced strawberries, red onion, and feta cheese. Here are a few other ideas for using it:

  • Try it on this arugula cherry salad, replacing the cherries with strawberries.
  • Use it on our strawberry avocado grilled chicken salad.
  • As a unique marinade for chicken.
  • When making a fruit salad, use this dressing. It’s delicious!

This vinaigrette is great over bitter greens, like water cress, chicory or endives. I have not tried on kale yet, but is coming.
