Hello, summer. I didn’t know you had so many delicious and healthy desserts! I cannot believe that it’s almost August. My niece starts school in two weeks. I saw the first apples at the farmer’s market this weekend. Where did the summer go?
It took a while for summer to heat up but when it did, we were sweating and melting here. And, I’ve cooled off a lot with desserts and popsicles. Well, that and cranking up the air conditioning. A girl's gotta survive, right?
So, let’s talk about dessert. I know that Christmas and the holidays get a bad rap when it comes to eating a lot of calories, gaining weight, and overdoing it. But, I feel like summer is worse. What about you? I think I actually eat more dessert and drink more in the summer than I do at Christmas time. There are more parties, casual BBQs, and random get-togethers. Plus, with fruit in season, these pies, cookies, and dessert taste so much better!
