Dinners to Eat in June

June is when dinner finally moves outside. The grill gets fired up, the evenings stretch out, and everything just tastes better eaten in the backyard. These are my 10 favorite recipes to make this month — a mix of easy weeknight wins and weekend showstoppers, all built for summer.

Grilled chicken with barbecue sauce, corn on the cob, and creamy potato salad on a plate, with the text dinners to eat in June overlaid—perfect for summer recipes and June meals.

June is peak grilling season, and this list leans right into that. The evenings are long, the backyard is calling, and there’s something about this time of year that makes you want to cook outside — whether that means firing up the BBQ for a proper cookout or just throwing something on the grill after work and calling it a great Tuesday.

That said, not every June dinner needs to happen over an open flame. This mix has a little of everything — quick weeknight wins, a few that feel just a little special, and a couple that are perfect for feeding a crowd on a long weekend. All of them are big on flavor without being fussy about it.

The whole list has that unmistakable early-summer energy: fresh, a little smoky, and just relaxed enough to match the season. Scroll through, bookmark a few favorites, and get ready — June goes fast.

Grilled BBQ Chicken (Sweet, Sticky, and Super Delicious)
This grilled BBQ chicken is everything I want in a summer cookout classic—juicy from a simple beer brine, full of flavor from a smoky dry rub, and finished with a sticky-sweet layer of BBQ sauce that caramelizes beautifully on the grill. It’s the kind of recipe that’s easy enough for a weeknight but tastes like you’ve been tending the smoker all day.

Grilled Steak Tacos ready for dinner
Grilled Steak Tacos Recipe
These grilled steak tacos are perfect for summer entertaining! Inspired by the vibrant flavors of Mexican carne asado, the steak is marinated in citrus juice and spices and then grilled until charred and smoky on the outside and perfectly pink and tender on the inside. Pile on charred veggies, refreshing mango, creamy avocado, and crumbly feta and you've got yourself the ultimate BBQ taco recipe!

Cedar Plank Salmon on a table topped with avocado peach salsa
Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon with Avocado Peach Salsa
This cedar plank salmon recipe is the ultimate way to prepare salmon on the barbecue. It's cooked low and slow, resulting in fish that's moist, smoky, and full of flavor. I top it with an avocado peach salsa for an easy summer meal that's ready in just 35 minutes!

Three seasoned cast iron chicken breasts sizzle in a skillet, each topped with a dollop of herb butter.
Juicy Cast Iron Chicken Breast with Honey Garlic Herb Butter
This cast iron chicken breast recipe is a go-to in our house. I make it at least once a week, often switching up the spice blend to go with the dinner I'm serving. The chicken is juiciest when seared and then baked, but I've added directions about how to cook this 100% on the stovetop if you don't want to turn on your oven.

Buffalo Chicken Sliders with Creamy Ranch Slaw
This recipe was born when my family requested my BBQ Chicken Sliders, but I was craving buffalo sauce. The tender, shredded chicken is mixed with Frank's Buffalo Sauce and then piled in buns slathered with ranch dressing and piled high with coleslaw and cheese. If you're not a fan of blue, you can omit it.

Mushroom Swiss Burger with Caramelized Onions
If there’s one burger I come back to time and time again, it’s this mushroom swiss burger. There’s just something about the way juicy beef, melty Swiss cheese, and buttery sautéed mushrooms come together that hits every craving. I tuck it all into a soft, toasted brioche bun and pile on a generous scoop of sweet, jammy caramelized onions for good measure. It’s rich, savory, and a total classic—and I promise, it’s worth every bite.

Thai Chicken Marinade Recipe
Switch up your everyday chicken with this Thai chicken marinade! It's made from scratch with only real ingredients and delivers big bold Thai flavor. Grill or bake it, and serve it with some rice and a salad for a quick and easy meal that's ready in just 35 minutes!

Baked BBQ Salmon in a bowl with rice and broccoli
Baked BBQ Salmon Recipe
This baked BBQ salmon is recipe that I make when I need to get dinner on the table quickly. It takes no time at all to get into the oven and despite its simplicity, my family loves it. The BBQ sauce turns thick and glaze-y and goes so well with the salmon.
One thing to note is that salmon can overcook and turn dry very quickly. When broiling, prioritize perfectly cooked salmon over a dark char.
