Sesame ginger dressing is easy to make and has tons of flavor. It’s a creamy salad dressing that is made with Asian flavors like tahini, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. You’ll love it poured over your greens or coleslaw!

You’ll almost always find at least one homemade salad dressing in a jar in my fridge, and lately, it’s been this one. The sesame and ginger give it that unmistakable Asian-inspired flavor I love, and the tahini makes it creamy and rich without feeling heavy.
It comes together with just a few ingredients — a splash of rice vinegar, a little soy sauce, garlic, and a touch of honey or maple syrup to balance everything out. It’s one of those dressings that tastes as if you put in way more effort than you actually did.
More uses for this sesame ginger dressing
Even though I often whisk this up for salads and coleslaw, it’s surprisingly versatile.
- Stir in a little extra tahini to thicken it, and you’ve got a quick dip for veggies or shrimp.
- Use it as a fast marinade for chicken or tofu when you want big flavor without fuss.
- Or drizzle it over a bowl of rice — it’s simple, delicious, and one of my favorite last-minute upgrades.
- Serve this salad dressing on an Asian noodle salad

My husband loves this dressing! This is the second time I’ve made it and next time I’m going to double the recipe!!
That makes me so happy to hear! 😄 When it’s good enough to make twice — and double next time — you know it’s a winner. Thanks so much for sharing the love!
I made this dressing last evening to serve with a Buddha bowl using rice, edamame, cabbage and a ginger chicken. My husband and I LOVED this dressing. What a perfect combination. I did add extra ginger because I love the flavor that ginger adds to a dish, but will definitely make again.
I’m so glad you both loved it! Your Buddha bowl sounds absolutely delicious, and I bet that extra ginger made the dressing even more vibrant. Thanks so much for sharing—can’t wait for you to make it again!
This was wonderful with a simple carrot salad that I made. Added the perfect flavor.
