I have a refreshing pineapple smoothie recipe for you that will transport you straight to the tropics. It’s thick, creamy, and delicious. It’s my go-to for a quick breakfast or snack on the go when I want something that tastes like a celebration of sunshine. Best of all, it’s made in just 5 minutes with only five simple ingredients.

A Pineapple Smoothie next to a pineapple

I’m all about smoothies, and this pineapple smoothie is one I make on repeat. It’s quick, bright, and bursting with tropical flavor—every sip feels like a little mini vacation in a glass. The combination of pineapple, banana, and orange gives it a naturally sweet, sunny taste that’s fresh and refreshing without being heavy.

It couldn’t be easier to make. Everything goes straight into the blender, and a minute later it’s smooth, creamy, and ready to drink. Yogurt adds a gentle creaminess, while pineapple brings that unmistakable tropical vibe that makes this smoothie especially fun. If I’m blending for kids, it’s always a hit—they love the fruity flavor and smooth texture.

This is one of those simple, reliable smoothies that fits perfectly into busy mornings or afternoon snack time. It’s mostly fruit, no juice, and endlessly sippable—exactly how I like my smoothies.

Pineapple smoothie recipe tips

This pineapple smoothie recipe is pretty fool-proof, but here are a few tips that help with making it:

  • Add your liquid first – this helps in the blending process. Use as much water or milk as you want for your desired consistency.
  • Use a high-powered blender if you have one. When using frozen fruit in smoothies, a high-powered blender like a Vitamix really helps. You can make one in a regular blender, but it won’t be as smooth.
  • If you’re using a Vitamix, use the tamper to press the ingredients closer to the blade.

Pineapple smoothie add ins

Here are a few easy but delicious ways you can give your pineapple smoothie a boost and personalize it to your taste:

  • Add protein powder, hemp hearts, or chia seeds to help make this smoothie more filling.
  • Fresh spinach will turn your smoothie green of course, but it’ll be delicious!
  • Add honey if you like it a bit sweeter.

Frozen pineapple smoothie FAQs

Can I make this smoothie ahead of time?

This smoothie is best enjoyed right away, but if you take it to go, it will keep at room temperature for up to 2 hours. You can also store it in the fridge for up to 1 day. It may separate, so give it a good shake before drinking.

I don’t have any frozen ingredients. What should I do?

If your ingredients are all fresh (not frozen), add a large handful of ice to your smoothie to cool it. You may also want to reduce the amount of water, as fresh ingredients make a thinner smoothie.
