This grilled peach dessert is one of my summer favorites—juicy, caramelized peaches topped with a buttery streusel and drizzled with warm maple caramel sauce. It’s the perfect mix of sweet, smoky, and crunchy, and it comes together quickly on the grill. I love serving it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an easy dessert that feels a little fancy but is totally fuss-free.
Streusel Topping: In a medium bowl, mix the oats, flour, sugar, butter, cinnamon, and salt until it's crumbly.
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, ¼ cup old-fashioned rolled oats, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, ⅛ teaspoon salt
Cook Streusel: Heat a cast iron pan over medium heat (you can do this on the grill if you'd like). Add the streusel mixture and cook, stirring frequently, until golden and fragrant, about 5 minutes. Set it aside to cool and then break it into smaller pieces if it's stuck together.
Maple Caramel: Add the maple syrup and butter to a small pot over medium-high heat. Let it boil hard for 3 minutes (do not stir), then remove it from the heat and stir in the cream and salt. Set it aside to cool and thicken.
¼ cup maple syrup, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon heavy cream, 1 pinch sea salt
Oil peaches: Quarter and pit your peaches and place them in a large bowl. Pour the avocado oil over top and toss gently to coat.
Grilled Peaches: Clean your grill grates well and then preheat to medium-high heat. Grill for 3 minutes on both of the cut sides, until grill marks appear - a total of 6 minutes.
4 large ripe but firm peaches, 1 tablespoon avocado oil
Serve: Plate the grilled peaches in bowls with ice cream, some of the streusel, a drizzle of maple butter over top, and if you'd like, a few mint leaves and edible flowers.
Vanilla ice cream, Edible flowers and mint
Notes
Perfect grill marks: It can be a little tricky to get those perfect grill marks, but I have a few tips for success. But if they come off the grill looking a little smudgy, don't worry about it, this is a wonderfully easy-going dessert and will look beautiful no matter what.
Start with a well cleaned grill.
Oil the peaches. You can also oil your grill.
Let them grill until they release themselves easily.
