This strawberry simple syrup is a delightful homemade addition to any drink recipe. You can also pour this ruby liquid gold over your favorite breakfast dish, like pancakes or french toast. It takes minutes to make and lasts for weeks in the fridge!
Ingredients
1cupchopped strawberries
1cupgranulated sugar
1cupwater
Instructions
Add the strawberries, sugar, and water to a small pot over medium-high heat. Bring the pot to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
1 cup chopped strawberries, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup water
Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool. Strain it through a fine-mesh sieve then skim off any foam from the top of the syrup.
Either use the syrup right away or store it in a clean, glass jar in your fridge for up to a month.
Notes
Don't throw away the strawberries after you strain the syrup - they're delicious! Enjoy them by the spoonful or put them on top of ice cream or yogurt.
