If you're entertaining and want to serve something delicious without being stuck in the kitchen, look no further than this pulled pork sliders recipe. Thanks to one of my favorite kitchen hacks, you can whip up 12 of these meaty sliders in one fell swoop!
1tablespoonEACH: garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and salt
Instructions
The Sliders
If you're making the pulled pork, do that first. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt the butter in a small bowl in your microwave (or in a pan on the stove) and then stir in the bagel seasoning.
1 tablespoon butter, 2 teaspoons bagel seasoning
Using a serrated knife, cut the rolls in half so that you have two large pieces.
12 Hawaiian dinner rolls
Place the bun bottoms in a 9x11-inch baking dish. Spread the mayo on both sides of the rolls and then top with 3 cups of pulled pork and the coleslaw.
Put the bun tops on and then brush the tops with the butter. Cover with foil and bake for 5 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 5 minutes more. Slice into individual slider sandwiches and serve right away.
The Pulled Pork
Start by mixing the spice rub ingredients together in a small bowl. Remove the butcher twine from the pork and then cover it with the spices, working it into all the nooks and crannies.
¼ cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons smoked paprika, 1 tablespoon EACH: garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and salt, 1 3-4 lb boneless pork butt
Place the pork in a slow cooker and add any remaining spices. Pour the BBQ sauce and broth into the slow cooker, cover with the lid, and turn the slow cooker on high for 5-6 hours or low for 8-10 hours.
1 ½ cup bbq sauce, 1 cup broth
Remove the pork from the pot and pour the juices into a medium-sized pot. Bring the pot to a boil over high heat and continue to boil until the juices reduce to the thickness of BBQ sauce.
Shred the pork using two forks and then put it in the pot with the reduced sauce. Mix it around and then serve!
Notes
Timing: The time to make this recipe does not include the time to make the pork. Chipotle mayo: I like a very saucy amount of mayo on these sliders. Feel free to use less if you'd prefer.Coleslaw: I make a simple coleslaw with thinly sliced purple and green cabbage and grated carrot tossed in a little olive oil. You can buy bagged coleslaw if you'd like, or use one of my many coleslaw recipes.
