Fajita seasoning is incredibly easy to make at home using pantry-staple spices. The flavor is so much better than store-bought and there's no sugar or hard to pronounce ingredients in this recipe. It lasts for ages in your pantry so you can make a big batch!
1teaspoonEACH: salt, cumin, oregano, and paprika (can be smoked)
Optional: ½ teaspoon cayenne, if you like it spicy
Instructions
Mix the spices together in a small bowl. You can double or triple the recipe and keep the extra on hand for later.
1 tablespoon chili powder, 2 teaspoons EACH: onion powder and garlic powder, 1 teaspoon EACH: salt, cumin, oregano, and paprika (can be smoked), Optional: ½ teaspoon cayenne
Store the seasoning mix in a jar in your pantry for up to a year.

How long does fajita seasoning keepIf you're making this with fresh spices, then it will last for at least a year in your pantry.Technically, spices never go "bad" and won't be dangerous to use if you keep them around for a long time. But they will lose their potency. Older spices will not be as flavorful, and you may find you need more spice to achieve the same flavor.
