This grapefruit margarita is a light, summery, refreshing take on the classic margarita. The tart taste of grapefruit and lime is balanced with an easy homemade agave or honey simple syrup. It's perfect for patio season, and it's ready in just 10 minutes!
Ingredients
Sea salt, to rim the glass
2ounceswhite tequila
1ouncegrapefruit juice
1ouncelime juice
1ounceagave or honey simple syrup, recipe below
Slicesof grapefruit to garnish
Agave Simple Syrup
¼ cupagave syrup, can sub honey
½ cupwater
Instructions
Wet the rim of a glass with a cut piece of grapefruit or lime. Pour some salt on a plate and dip the wet rim into the salt. Fill the glass with ice.

Fill a cocktail shaker or mason jar with ice, and then add the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup and stir until it's cold.
2 ounces white tequila, 1 ounce grapefruit juice, 1 ounce lime juice, 1 ounce agave or honey simple syrup
Strain your margarita into the prepared glass and then garnish it with slices of grapefruit.

Agave Simple Syrup
Mix the agave or honey with hot tap water and stir until it dissolves. Store any leftovers in a jar in your fridge for up to a month.

Notes
Make a pitcher of grapefruit margaritas by using cups instead of ounces: 2 cups tequila, 1 cup grapefruit juice, 1 cup lime juice, and 1 cup of simple syrup. Add the ingredients to a pitcher filled with ice and slices of grapefruit and stir.
