Ingredients
1 ½ cupsfreeze dried strawberries, about 3 ounces
16ouncesmarshmallows
½ cupsalted butter
6cupsrice krispie cereal
Instructions
Line a 9x9 inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease it with butter. Cut 1 cup of the marshmallows into small pieces - about the size of a mini marshmallow.
1 ½ cups freeze dried strawberries
Add the freeze-dried strawberries to a food processor and process until mostly powder. You should have about ½ cup.
1 ½ cups freeze dried strawberries
Melt the butter in a large pot over medium-low heat. Add the remaining marshmallows to the pot and turn the heat to low. Melt the marshmallows, stirring the pot occasionally. Remove the pot from the heat, add the rice krispie cereal, powdered freeze-dried strawberries, and the marshmallows you cut into small pieces and stir until combined.
16 ounces marshmallows, ½ cup salted butter, 6 cups rice krispie cereal
Transfer to the baking dish and gently press down - buttering your fingers helps prevent them from sticking. If you'd like, press a few freeze-dried strawberries into the top. Let the rice krispie treats cool for at least a half hour and then cut them into squares.
Notes
We've stated that the recipe makes 16 squares, even though we cut them into only 9 squares in the pictures. The ones in the pictures are REALLY big in real life and cutting them into 16 squares is a lot more reasonable.
