Strawberry Mojito

This strawberry mojito recipe blends summer-fresh strawberries, bright herbs like mint and basil, a dash of white rum, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

– Strawberries – Mint – Basil – White rum – Lemon juice – Soda water

Begin by making the strawberry syrup. Combine the water, sugar, and strawberries in a pot and bring it to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, mashing the strawberries with a spoon when they're soft.

Remove the pot from the heat, let it cool slightly, then strain it through a fine-mesh sieve. See notes.

Add the mint, basil, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker and muddle for about 30 seconds.

Put a handful of ice into the shaker, add the rum and lemon juice, and stir until it's cold.
