Peel the potatoes and cut them into equal-sized chunks. Put the potatoes into a large pot and cover them with 1-inch of water. Boil the potatoes for 10-15 minutes , until they can easily be pierced with a knife.

Add the sour cream, butter, and salt to the pot and let the butter melt.

Mashed the potatoes using a potato masher then stir in the chives.
