The negroni sbagliato is a popular effervescent spin on the classic negroni. It's a simple three-ingredient cocktail made from campari, sweet vermouth, and sparkling wine, then served with an orange slice.

– Campari – Sweet vermouth – Sparkling wine

Put a handful of ice into a cocktail mixer or jar. Add the Campari and sweet vermouth and stir until they're chilled.

Strain into a rocks glass with a single, large ice cube inside.

Top with sparkling wine and garnish with a slice of orange.

The benefit of using large ice cubes is that they have a larger surface area so they melt more slowly. They keep your drink cold, without diluting it.

You can serve it on the rocks (like we do in the pictures), or “up” in a champagne flute.
