This grilled cheese sandwich is actually baked instead of fried in butter for a lighter, but equally satisfying sandwich.
- Whole wheat bread
- Cheddar cheese
- Bacon, cooked
- Tomatoes, sliced
- Onion, minced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Lay out the slices of bread on a baking sheet and layer the cheese, bacon, tomatoes, onions and basil on each slice. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until cheese has melted.
- Remove from the oven and slice in half or quarter triangles.
I’ve left out the ingredient amounts on purpose. Add as much or as little of each as you like. You’re the boss here!
