How to be a food blogger

Hello again! I am back to share with you The Endless Meal's financial report for March. I also have a few tips and tricks to share that hopefully will help you out with your blog.

The numbers for March:

  • Google Adsense – $289.56
  • Infolinks – $37.63
  • Ligit – $24.85
  • Other blog income – $74.50

Total blog income: $426.54

Some Google Analytics stats:

Here's where the traffic was coming from in March:

There are three things that I want to point out on this list:

  1. FoodEpix
  2. RecipeNewZ
  3. Ziplist

We're all trying to figure out ways to drive more traffic to our food blogs, right? But sometimes, especially when you're first starting out, it can be hard to have your images accepted by Foodgawker or Tastespotting. Definitely keep practicing your photography and you will start to get your photos accepted. (You might want to think about buying Pinch of Yum's book Tasty Food Photography to help you out.)

But there are other food sharing sites that are a lot easier to get your images accepted onto and will still send many visitors your way. You can see in the screen shot that FoodEpix and RecipeNewZ sent about 2500 visitors to The Endless Meal in March. Not bad! If your images are high quality it will just help them to stand out even more on these sites.

Ziplist is a site that is connected to the EasyRecipe plugin. Every time I post a new recipe an image and a link to the recipe is sent automatically to Ziplist. I ♥ EasyRecipe.
